I think there should be a class that builds stuff that helps the party. I would have the 4 skill lines as:

Nimbleness: base class skill - reduces cast times and mana costs on skills contains skills that increase dodging skills.

Explosives: Skills to create explosive powder barrels, dynamite, grenades and other detonation based attacks

Construction: Skills include with Traps, destroyable walls, turrets, temporary pets (like Necro but robots)

Crossbow: Skills similar to Ranger marksmen skills but more gadget based. Ideas include exploding bolt (AOE blast on hit), Long Shot (distance increased by 5m), and smoking bolt (causes blindness).

I think having a class like this could be a lot of fun and help groups take on opponents more strategically.

A dodging nimble dwarf, this had better be a joke.

While I have no problem with that, making stuff go BOOM! is fun, but is there something that makes taking a dwarf in the team better than taking a R/E that uses [skill=text]Meteor Shower[/skill]?

No problems with that, your basic builder concept; wonder how fast a nimble dwarf can pile bricks up, so the activation time of wall isn't like 60 seconds, spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make sense of building something in 10seconds or less, for my Monarch which is in the starting blocks now.

Ohh by all means, I'm sure that in the 120 years between GW1 and GW2 whilst being pestered by dragons and other disasters and wars, that turned the world onto the sorry state it is in at the beginning of GW2, so we can save is again;
The 20 dwarves that didn't die from defeating the great destroyer had plenty of time to create sensors and artificial reasoning superior to what we have now.
Just so they could lay down their axes and hammers, and dishonorably wield pliers and welders, having hollow metal tall folk do their fighting for them, like those wimpy Asura than can't even lift an axe let alone use it.

Now that might actually be kinda useful.

I agree, spirits(=turret) are fun, minnions are fun and crossbows look cooler than bows.

You score better than most few line CC's here, and I'm not giving you a hard time because yours is a unthoughtout idea, and only a little because it mentions robots/turrets.
Most of the engineer/constructor ideas have bad lore, I found it is really hard too, to make acceptable lore for them.

I'm being mean because you are insulting the drinking, fighting and tough guy dwarves, dwarven technology is in fantasy bits that has dwarves get tech; made to work with not against dwarven stamina and strength, it's disrespectful of them.

Something tells me I have been near people BK and Phoenix too long, which is having negative effects on my attitude...

PS.
@phoenix, I'm not saying your attitude is as bad as Bahamut's, that would be pretty much impossible.

PPS.
In case Snow Bunny/Toilets and/or their lackeys find this thread, Belthior's Flame Ward is NODROP, so I still have it.

Hay Foglhadha did you get this idea by any chance from Warhammer online because it seems like your referring to a dwarf engineer. All but the nimbleness part.

So... this is a Dwarven Ranger, then?

Nimbleness -> expertise
Explosives & Construction -> Wilderness Survival & Beast Mastery
Crossbow - Marksmanship

A Race =/= to a class/profession. For all intents and purposes, you could describe our characters as "Human Warrior" or "Human Ranger/Monk".

The bottom line is, this is basically a ranger that uses crossbows, and beast mastery would have mechanical-themed stuff instead. Regardless, at least in the GW universe, Dwarves are good w/ explosives, but not so much w/ mechanical stuff - that seems to be the role of the Asura, who are basically more original looking Gnomes (although they look a little too much like Stitch if you ask me).

I agree about the stich part and i'm glad Anet didn't just use gnomes. Asura are different and I like it.

This is where I stopped reading.

You can't just give it an uber Profession-specific primary, this would effectively nerf Mesmers and Rangers, because now you have both of their good points.
